Job Title: Janitor Department: Administration / Facilities Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Dodowa Reports To: Administrator / Facilities Supervisor Position Summary We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and responsible **Janitor** to maintain a clean, safe, hygienic, and orderly environment across the school or facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, waste disposal, basic upkeep of assigned areas, and supporting the general maintenance and cleanliness of the premises. Key Responsibilities * Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean floors in classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, and common areas. * Clean and disinfect washrooms, toilets, sinks, and other sanitary facilities. * Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately. * Dust and clean furniture, windows, doors, fixtures, and surfaces. * Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas, walkways, and surroundings. * Replenish toilet tissue, soap, and other hygiene supplies where required. * Assist with arranging classrooms, meeting areas, or event spaces when needed. * Report damaged furniture, leaking taps, faulty lights, blocked drains, or other maintenance concerns to management. * Ensure cleaning materials and equipment are used properly and stored safely. * Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages for replenishment. * Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times. * Respond promptly to spills or urgent cleaning needs. * Support basic groundskeeping and general upkeep where required. * Maintain cleanliness and security of assigned work areas. * Assist with opening and closing duties where necessary. * Perform other related duties assigned by management. Requirements * Basic education or equivalent qualification. * Previous experience as a janitor, cleaner, housekeeper, or similar role is preferred. * Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. * Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. * Physically fit and able to perform cleaning duties for extended periods. * Good attention to detail. * Reliable, punctual, honest, and responsible. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Basic awareness of workplace health and safety.
