Job Title: Basic 5 & 6 Facilitator Department: Academics Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Reports To: Headteacher / Academic Coordinator Position Summary We are looking for a confident, organized, and learner-focused Basic 5 & 6 Facilitator to support the academic development and preparation of upper-primary learners. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons, strengthen learners’ literacy, numeracy, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities, assess academic progress, and help prepare pupils for the transition into Junior High School. ### Key Responsibilities * Plan and deliver lessons in line with the approved curriculum. * Teach assigned subjects at the Basic 5 and Basic 6 levels. * Strengthen learners’ skills in English Language, Mathematics, Science, and other core subjects. * Prepare lesson notes, teaching materials, class exercises, assignments, and projects. * Use interactive and learner-centred teaching methods to improve understanding. * Prepare learners for class tests, examinations, and academic assessments. * Track learner performance and maintain accurate academic records. * Identify learners who require additional academic support and provide remedial assistance. * Encourage independent learning, research, creativity, and critical thinking. * Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a respectful, disciplined learning environment. * Support learners in developing good study habits, time management, and personal responsibility. * Provide constructive feedback to learners and parents on academic progress. * Collaborate with other teachers to improve teaching outcomes and learner performance. * Participate in staff meetings, academic planning, training sessions, and school activities. * Supervise learners during break periods, assemblies, excursions, and other school programmes. * Support co-curricular activities and school events. * Maintain classroom materials, teaching resources, and learner records. * Perform other academic and administrative duties assigned by school management. Requirements * Diploma, HND, Bachelor’s degree, or relevant teaching qualification in Education or a related field. * Previous experience teaching upper-primary learners is preferred. * Strong knowledge of the Basic 5 and Basic 6 curriculum. * Good understanding of literacy, numeracy, science, and general academic development. * Strong classroom management skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to prepare lesson plans, assessments, and learner reports. * Good organizational and time-management skills. * Basic computer literacy. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teachers.
